This installation belonged to the rowing boat of the Oceancats team .

This team was born to overcome the challenge of the TWAC 22, a race of ocean rowing. This one goes from the Canary Islands (La Gomera) to the Caribbean (Antigua and Barbuda). This means that they will row more than 3,000 nautical miles (+ 4,800 km) day and night, during more than 30 days. A boat race.

Their mission for this project is to take care of the seas and oceans. One of the ways to do this is to extract water to obtain different samples from each zone. Subsequently, the microplastics of each sample are analyzed, thus calculating the level of contamination of the water.

In addition, they have also initiated the “OceanSchools” project, through which the Oceancats team is dedicated to going to different schools and institutions to raise awareness. They want to inform, especially young people, about the state of the seas and oceans, and the problems caused by the existence of microplastics. Nowadays, these can also be found in the blood of both fish and people, a very worrying fact for public health.

At Fotovol we think that this awareness task is essential for the future of the planet. That is why we have wanted to give them our support both technically and economically, as we are immensely grateful.

Last week we went to the Palamos Marina to review the photovoltaic installation with battery of the rowing boat of the OCEANCATS team (https://oceancats.org/).

[104

post-11597","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-renewable-energy
["GET
