However, sometimes doubts or even refusals arise from the neighbors&#8217; community. Can they really prohibit the installation? What does the law say? In Fotovol we explain it to you clearly so you know how to act and do not waste time or money.    <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"can-the-community-prohibit-the-installation-of-a-charger\">Can the community prohibit the installation of a charger?<\/h2>\n\n<p>The answer is <strong>no<\/strong>. According to <strong>article 17.5 of the Horizontal Property Law (LPH)<\/strong>, it is sufficient to <strong>give prior written notice to the president or administrator of<\/strong> your intention to install a charger in your individual parking space. <\/p>\n\n<p>The community <strong>cannot oppose<\/strong>, except in specific cases in which:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The installation affects <strong>structural or common elements of the building<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You do not have an <strong>individualized<\/strong> seat (e.g. rotating or common use seats).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>  In any other case, the decision is yours, as long as you assume the installation and consumption costs.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"steps-to-follow-if-you-want-to-install-your-charging-point\">Steps to follow if you want to install your charging point<\/h2>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Formal communication<\/strong><br\/>Send a letter to the president or administrator of the property informing them of your intention.<br\/>You do not need authorization, you only need to notify them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assumes the costs<\/strong><br\/>of both the installation and the energy consumed.
