Fotovol: photovoltaic installation company in Girona

About Us

We are an engineering and installation company specializing in photovoltaic energy generation systems, particularly in the design and execution of rooftop and ground-mounted installations. We operate as an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) company on photovoltaic projects, assuming full responsibility from the initial feasibility study to the commissioning of each installation.

At Fotovol, we offer a comprehensive service, encompassing technical, energy, and economic studies, legal and administrative management, installation execution, and final system connection. This approach allows us to guarantee viable, efficient solutions that comply with current regulations.

Over 20 years of experience. Over 18 MW installed in Catalonia.

Technical specialisation in photovoltaics

Fotovol works exclusively in the photovoltaic sector and energy efficiency. That focus is what allows us to follow every regulatory change, every new technology and every shift in the energy market. The result is better-dimensioned installations, more realistic budgets and technical advice that comes from direct experience, not from catalogues.

A team of 10 integrated professionals

Engineers, installers, economists and lawyers work together in Fotovol’s day-to-day operations. The same team that studies your project is the one that carries it out and legalises it. That continuity shows in the quality of every installation and in the relationship with the client throughout the entire process.

Where and how we work

Our headquarters are in Vulpellac, in the Baix Empordà region, and from there we carry out projects throughout Catalonia. Girona is our main market — we know the territory, the businesses, the local councils and the particularities of each area. We also work in Barcelona, Tarragona and Lleida, and have completed installations in Portugal.

We carry out the technical and economic study, process the permits, execute the work with our own team and legalise the installation. The client has a single point of contact throughout every phase, without coordinating multiple suppliers. We work on both residential projects of 5-10 kWp and industrial plants of several hundred kilowatts: the size of the project does not change the execution standard.

Fotovol in the press

Our work has been covered by local and specialist media in Girona and Catalonia. Here are some of the most notable appearances.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Fotovol’s origins are linked to its founding partners’ commitment to the energy transition and the decentralization of energy production. We actively work to promote the implementation of renewable energies and contribute to the reduction of CO₂ emissions, driving a more sustainable energy model.

Our commitment to the environment is realized through the design and implementation of efficient photovoltaic systems, aimed at significantly reducing CO₂ emissions and the environmental impact associated with conventional energy consumption. Each project is planned based on criteria of technical sustainability and long-term durability.

We believe in a more decentralized, accessible, and distributed energy model, where homes, businesses, and industries can produce and manage their own energy. Through photovoltaic self-consumption, we contribute to reducing energy dependence and empowering users to manage their consumption.

Excellence at Fotovol is based on technical rigor, attention to detail, and the flawless execution of every project. We apply high standards to both technical and visual aspects, striving for well-integrated, efficient, easy-to-maintain installations tailored to each client’s specific needs.

This approach translates into reliable, long-lasting solutions and high long-term satisfaction.

Safety and health are a top priority in all our projects, always taking precedence over purely economic considerations. Implementing a high-quality photovoltaic installation means complying with legal, technical, and ethical requirements, including health and safety studies and proper on-site coordination.

We are aware that some installations in the sector are carried out without the necessary guarantees. At Fotovol, we are committed to doing things right, ensuring safe working conditions and protecting both our team and the owners of the installations.

At Fotovol, we base our decision-making on the principles of the Economy for the Common Good model, applied to the company’s comprehensive management. These principles include:

  • Human dignity
  • Solidarity and social justice
  • Ecological sustainability
  • Transparency and participation

We actively promote these values, prioritizing the positive social and environmental impact of our activities over maximizing short-term economic profit.

We believe that knowledge transfer is essential for building a better future and strengthening the energy sector. For this reason, we collaborate with educational institutions such as the La Garrotxa Institute and the Baix Empordà Technical School, offering their students the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired during their studies in a practical setting.

This involvement is part of our commitment to the professional and technical development of new generations.

At Fotovol, we are committed to an honest, clear, and close relationship with our clients. We don’t share incomplete or out-of-context information, and we explain every technical and economic decision in a clear and understandable way.

Transparency, combined with a personal touch, allows us to build strong and lasting relationships, generating the trust necessary for each project to unfold as agreed and with complete peace of mind for the client.

Industrial, agri-food, tourism and education companies, as well as municipalities across the province of Girona, have trusted Fotovol.
From 3 kWp installations for rural energy communities to plants of over 480 kWp for large industrial facilities.
